Information Session & Olympics – Friday 12th August

Did you know that water polo is the oldest and longest standing team sport in the modern Olympics, having been played at all games since the 1900s?

Despite only having participated in four Olympic Games, the Aussie women’s team will be looking to add a fourth Olympic medal and hopefully a second gold medal to their tally, while the Aussie men’s team will be looking to secure their first Olympic medal. The Croatian and Serbians teams will be a major threat in the men’s competition, while the USA women’s team will be looking for their fifth Olympic medal in a row. WA is well represented in both men’s and women’s teams.

Water polo is a spectacular sport to watch, particularly at this high level, and as such we have organised for our members to see a replay of a Stingers and Sharks match at the Newman Sports Club Rooms.

Prior to this we will hold a short Information Session about the coming season (particularly useful for those new to the sport or moving from Flippaball into the Junior League  – Born 2005 and older).

When: Friday 12th August from 5:30pm for Information Session. Games will be shown from around 6:30pm

Where: Newman Sports Club Rooms (off Tuscany Way)

Bar will be open and BBQ available for drinks & hamburgers.

BYO: bean bag/cushion

Looking forward to catching up with you then.
