Let the games begin…
Not long until the season kicks off starting with the Juniors on Monday 9th October 17.
Presidents Update
Here we are with the season proper about to kick off. The Juniors will hit the water first with the State Junior League commencing this coming Monday, while our Flippaballers will have their first official training session on Thursday 12 Oct, followed by their first game the following day at Beatty Park. The Seniors have an extra week to prepare, with some rigorous training expected between now and their first game on Wednesday 18 Oct.
We have had a great turnout from our Juniors at our first 4 training sessions of the season, with plenty of enthusiasm and good spirit on display. This should see our Juniors ready to play some great water polo and have lots of fun. This season we will have Junior players playing in a record (for our club) 10 teams. Two of these teams are composite teams with other clubs, which has allowed us to have some of our U14 and U16 girls entered into “A” division for the first time. In addition we have entered an U14 boys team into “A” division, also for the first time.
Our seniors have also hit the pool in preparation for the upcoming season. Once again we have entered two women’s teams in Division 3 and I am excited to announce that we will have a Men’s team also competing this season, for the first time.
I am looking forward to our flippaballers jumping into the pool next week, as I am sure they are also. Flippaball is all about having fun and along the way learning the skills required to play water polo, so I encourage everyone involved, children and parents, to embrace the program and help create a wonderful experience for all, particularly the kids.
Please make sure you read below for training and game dates and times, for each of our competitions and other important information. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our players a wonderful season ahead and I encourage everyone to have a great time and to play with respect, in particular for each other; the opposition; the coaches; the referees and all officials. Let’s together make this a great season for everyone!

Juniors
We look forward to seeing the Juniors at the season launch this Sunday.
Team allocations will be sent out in the next few days as we are awaiting final registrations. If you have not registered you will need to do this by Friday in order play on Monday night.
https://membership.sportstg.com/regoform.cgi?formID=71705Each team will need to have a Manager whose main responsibilities are to roster parents to score/table duty, enter scores in SportsTG, bring along caps & balls to games. A Managers’ meeting will be held soon and we will help all Managers with the first few weeks of games. If you would like to help out please email
juniors@newmanwaterpolo.asn.auAll fixtures are published on SportsTG
http://websites.sportstg.com/assoc_page.cgi?c=1-3211-0-0-0#2._Juniors or you can download the Game Day app. It is likely that the fixtures will change again before Monday as Clubs make last minute team changes.
Seeking more players in U14 Boys
We are short a few players in U14 boys as we currently have 3 teams – 1 A division and 2 B division. We are reluctant to reduce this to 2 teams as it will mean many subs on the bench and not a lot of game time for players. If you know of anyone that may interested please email juniors@newmanwaterpolo.asn.au with contact information asap.
School Holiday Camp
There has been a wonderful turnout to the training camp run by Jeremy Carbone and Raul Ricci at Claremont pool. It has been a great way for our players to get prepared for the season and with 2 days to go we hope you can get down there for one of the sessions. Many thanks to Jeremy & Raul for making this happen.
Training
Recommences Thursday 12th October and Saturday training starts on 14th October at Hale Pool .
